Space and Earth: Solar System, Ecology, and First Conditional

- **Baikonur Cosmodrome** [baɪkəˈnʊə kɒzmədrəʊm] — the world's first and largest operational space launch facility.

- **Yuri Gagarin** — made the first human flight into orbit from Baikonur on April 12, 1961.

- **Kazakh Cosmonauts**: Tokhtar Aubakirov (first Kazakh in space, 1991), Talgat Musabayev, Aidyn Aimbetov.

- **Solar System**: the Sun, eight planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune), satellites, and asteroids.

First Conditional

(Main clause) |

|:---|:---|

| *If you study astronomy hard,* | *you **will become** an aerospace engineer.* |

| *If we recycle plastic,* | *our planet **will stay** clean and healthy.* |

| *If it rains tomorrow,* | *the rocket launch **will be** delayed.* |

> [!WARNING]

> Главная ошибка: в придаточном предложении после **IF** никогда **не ставится WILL**!

> - *If we **protect** nature...* (НЕ *If we will protect*).

- *If you turn off the tap while brushing your teeth, you will save hundreds of litres of clean water.*

- *If people sort household waste, factories will recycle paper and glass.*

- *Unless we reduce carbon emissions, climate change will accelerate.*

> [!NOTE]

> Слово **UNLESS** означает **IF NOT** (если не):

> - *Unless we act now, pollution will grow* = *If we do not act now, pollution will grow.*

- Building lunar bases and exploring ice on the Moon.

- Robotic rovers collecting soil samples on Mars.

- Satellite monitoring of forest fires and melting glaciers on Earth.
